Tergivelum baldwinae

Description

General: Dark brown anterior, light-colored posterior, moderately broad collar, low-dome, pointed proboscis, wide-lipped. Lighter colored at smaller sizes, and nearly colorless when very small. Commensal with polynoid worm Macellicephala sp. A.

Ocean range (global): Astoria Canyon, Monterey, base of Davidson Seamount and Station M.

Published depth range: 2712 - 3954 m

Habitat description: Benthic, soft substrate, common on the abyssal plane.
