Description

Size: to 58 cm

General: Deep-bodied and more perch-shaped compared to S. melanostomus; saddle on side may form an H pattern. Likely to be perched on top of something.



Geographic Information

Published depth range: 25 - 904 m, most commonly 140 - 210 m.

Ocean range (global): Bering Sea to Santa Catalina Island, California.

Habitat description: Benthic.
