Description

General: If observed between 200 - 600 m, compare to S. rubrivinctus (look for a convex first band, vs. a C-shaped band in flag rockfish), however note that these are more common.

Size: to 65.5 cm



Geographic Information

Published depth range: 49 - 625 m, most abundant between 150 - 350 m.

Ocean range (global): Bering Sea to southern California.

Habitat description: Benthic.
