Reddish with short, stout claws (compare to Munida quadrispina).
Size:
Carapace to 50 mm.
Geographic Information
Ocean range (global):
San Francisco, California to Baja California.
Published depth range:
45 - 90 m. In recent years, MBARI researchers have observed these crabs much deeper than the reported depth.
Habitat description:
Benthic, and can be found free-swimming in the water column.
