Taxonomy: Eukaryota (superkingdom) Animalia (kingdom) Echinodermata (phylum) Holothuroidea (class) Elasipodida (order) Elpidiidae (family) Peniagone (genus) Peniagone sp. 1 (species) Description General: Transparent, but may look white from a distance due to well-developed gonads (whitish tubules). Geographic Information Habitat description: Benthic, demersal. Additional Information Consulting taxonomist: Linda Kuhnz, MBARI. Taxonomist assessment: Needs further evaluation. Thus far, does not fit the description of any known holothurian from the area.
