Description

Size: to 152 cm



Geographic Information

Published depth range: 0 - 475 m (most common to 200 m).

Ocean range (global): Gulf of Alaska to central Baja, but probably as far north as the Bering Sea.

Habitat description: Benthic. Soft, low-relief sediment when young with a shift toward mixed and harder substrates as they age.

Verified MBARI depth distribution: to 422 m (March 2016).
