Description

General: Young are abundant in coastal North Pacific water. They are often associated with jellyfish which provide protection from predators and opportunities for scavenging.

Size: Maximum length 46 cm.



Geographic Information

Ocean range (global): North Pacific from Japan to Gulf of Alaska and to central Baja California, Mexico.

Habitat description: Pelagic, often associated with gelatinous organisms.

Published depth range: 0 - 900 m.
