Description

Size: to 70 cm

General: Look for left dorsal brown blotch and two white posterior spots (not always present). Caudal fin longest in the center (double truncated), oval to round, appearing diamond-shaped when fins are extended. Large jawline.

Published depth range: to 457 m

Ocean range (global): Aleutian Islands to northern Baja California.

Habitat description: Benthic.
