Description

General: Globose head, open sensory and lateral line canals, loose skin covered by small spine-like scales; color pale, steely blue in juveniles, red in adults.

Size: Length 78 - 213 mm.

Published depth range: 1250 - 3297 m

Ocean range (global): Cosmopolitan.

Habitat description: Benthic, rugose volcanic talus.
