General: Reddish, very large polyps; heavy, may be lying on the sediment; See Williams and Alderslade 2011 for a description of the form of the peduncle in sea pens that inhabit soft substrate.

Size: to 800 mm

Published depth range: 450 - 1500 m

Habitat description: Benthic, soft sediment.
